Painted Path is a 2D pixel art puzzle platformer in which the player must guide an artist around a level by drawing bridges, walls, and platforms to guide him. The artist automatically walks around the level on his own, and the player can draw shapes to guide and interact with the player throughout the level. The player has a limited amount of ink at a time to use to draw objects on the screen and needs to both manage their ink usage and avoid obstacles throughout the level to make it to the end.

Features

  • Four unique levels with different obstacles
  • A difficulty curve that eases the player into the game mechanics
  • An automatically controlled artist that forces you to react quickly and plan paths ahead of time
  • An interactive enemy that can be interacted with the same way as the artist and cause problems if left unhandled

Gameplay Instructions

  • In the main menu, pick the level that you want to start on. If the player wants to, they can also draw on the main menu for fun.
  • In a level, use the mouse cursor and the left mouse button to draw ramps, bridges, walls, or any other structures you can think of to help the artist get to the flag at the end of the level.
  • When necessary, use the drawing mechanic to also draw cages or walls around the enemy to trap it and prevent the artist from dying to the enemy
  • Plan ahead when entering blue no-draw zones, as you cannot draw any shapes inside of them

Controls

  • Press the left mouse button to use your magic ink to draw a path
  • Hold and drag left mouse to draw longer lines
